Turmeric Kumkum

contents:
(a) kumkum is prepared in the traditional method with turmeric (rich in oil content), dye and edible oil. Kumkum is also prepared with tapioca starch or flour with dye which are widely used.
(b) turmeric powder is prepared by grinding pure turmeric into powder form.

uses for kumkum and turmeric powder:
1. Applied on forehead by men and women as small dot.
2. Cloth dipped in turmeric water used for goddess idol and men and women during religious festivals.
3. It is a religious and a customary product which is used widely during poojas by hindus.
4. Offered to sumangali ladies during functions (given in thamboolam).
5. Applied on bottom of door hold (vasakkal) on friday and auspicious days.
6. Applied on account books on opening new account every year.
7. It is also used during ayudha pooja by hindus.
8. All new items like car, scooter, radio, television, and machinery are used only of the applying turmeric paste and kumkum.
9. Various colour kumkum is used for making floor carpet during yagnes and festival times
